MODERN SOCIETY – Goodbye, Welfare State

Parece que tanto Demócratas como Republicanos se hubieran puesto de acuerdo para arruinar a su propio país.  En especial por parte de los Republicanos, con su absurda renuncia a que suban los impuestos a las acaudaladas fortuna de su país.  O como la fantástica idea del presidente Obama, de convertir al gobierno en Empresa y generar una masiva creación de empleo.  Esto es algo ridículo y tiene los días contados.  Pues una derrama económica como la anunciada en su grandilocuente discurso para crear empleo es solamente un parche.  No resuelve la raíz del verdadero problema.

La situación de los equilibrios mundiales está cambiando de una manera radical.  Pues son los llamados países emergentes con sus bajísimos precios y salarios en donde se están instalando las industrias e infraestructuras que están generando la más alta productividad.  Como consecuencia de este nuevo panorama, serán los países Occidentales quien tendrán que ajustar sus salarios.  O de lo contrario perderán su competitividad.  Todas las reuniones que hagan no sirven para nada, es pérdida de tiempo.

Por ejemplo en su discurso Obama prometió que el gobierno financiara con 4,500 dólares cada nuevo empleo.  Pero los que están obligados a esto son los empresarios.  Como siempre pura demagogia y captación de voto para su reelección.  Todos sabemos que el estado del bienestar tiene los días contados, tanto en Europa como en USA.  El gobierno emite deuda para poder pagar las prestaciones de la seguridad social, más ninguna crea puestos de trabajo, porque la mano de obra barata esta en los países emergentes.  Toda la producción la han trasladado a esos países.  Allí no hay seguridad médica, no hay derechos sociales ni laborales.  En algunos casos ni derechos humanos.  La verdadera cara del pulpo capitalista, los banco, no tienen liquidez debido a que se lo gastaron en comprar bonos del estado, que a su vez sirve para pagar el estado del bienestar insostenible.  En USA más de lo mismo, esto tiene muy mala pinta.  Por supuesto en Europa no tuvimos dos guerras mundiales para acabar trabajando por un cuenco de arroz.  ¡Ojo!  Si tienen que rodar cabezas no serán solamente las de los trabajadores.

It seems that both the Republicans and the Democrats have come together to ruin their own country.  This is especially so on the part of the Republicans, with their absurd rejection that the taxes be raised for the richest in the country.  Or take the fantastic idea of Obama of trying to convert the government into a corporation and generation massively the creation of jobs.  This is ridiculous and will be over in no time.  This kind of economic expenditure which has been announced in his grandiloquent speech to create jobs is only a temporary band-aid.  It does not resolve the root of the problem.

The situation of the global equilibrium is changing in a radical manner.  The so-called emerging countries with their low prices and salaries, where most industries and infrastructure have been established, are where we can find the highest levels of productivity.  As a consequence of this new panorama, it would the Western countries that will have to make adjustments to their salaries.  If not, they stand to lose their competiveness.  All the conferences and meetings will not serve their purposes; it will be a waste of time.

For example, in Obama’s discourse, he promised that the government will finance with US$4,500 for each new job created.  But the entrepreneurs are the ones who will be obliged to create the jobs.  As always, pure demagogy and a way to reign in more votes for his reelection.  We all know that the welfare state will not live for very long, both in the USA and in Europe.  The government emits new debt so as to pay for the social security payments, and none of this is creating new jobs, just due to the fact that it is in the emerging countries where we can find the cheapest labour costs.  All the production has been migrated to these countries.  In these countries there is no medical welfare, nor social and labour rights.  In some cases there is also a lack of human rights.  The true face of the capitalist monster, the banks, are short on liquidity due to the fact that they have been busy buying up the sovereign bonds of their countries, which at the same time have been channeled to hold up the unsustainable social security systems.  In USA, more of the same thing, this really looks bad.  Of course in Europe, the people have not gone through two world wars to later be content with the bare minimum of sustenance.  Watch out!  If heads are to roll, it would not only be those of the workers.
