ANIMAL KINGDOM - Descarte and the Animals

Marvellous Animal Kingdom

Descarte
Recently I have reread some texts of the so-called father of Rationalism.  Specifically I am referring to Decarte and with the little wisdom that one accumulates through the years, in my case 65, I arrive at the humble opinion that this illustrious person could have been very innovative during his time, but today he is more than out of synch with reality.  Especially when it comes to the subject of the animals.  This philosopher went so far to postulate that the animals do not suffer due to the fact that they do not belong to the human race and thus they do not possess the sensitivity of suffering.  His inhumane argument is based on the theory that animals are mechanical and robotic.  As a result, they are free of any emotions.  Not even in the most sickly mind could these strange thoughts reside.  His arrogance even caused him to declare that man is the master of nature.  This fool was definitely not lacking in the department of humility.

His stubborness even reached the point where he unflinchingly rejected the existence of the Soul within the Animal Kingdom.  Only man can be said to possess this facet.  Above all, the most irritating comes when he affirmed that when an animal wails, it is of course not a cry of pain.  It is only the screeching of a mechanism that doesn't work well, just a like a wheel, when it screeches it does not mean that the axle suffers, it just means that it has not been oiled.  How could this dimwit been recognised as a thinker during his time.  Listen Mr Descarte, the axle of a cart is made of metal supposedly.  But a cat or a dog has a heart, eyes.  In this vein, the charlatan of the circus continues to postulate that the cry of a little dog when it is hurt should not make us sad, if a laboratory were to experiment with it and cuts it into pieces alive.

What a great difference lies between Descarte and Nietzche!  This happened in Turin, when he came out of a hotel and saw that the coachman of the carriage was punishing the horse with a whip.  Nietzche went towards the horse and before the eyes of the coachman, he embraced its neck and he cried.  This occurred in 1889.  It has been interpreted that Nietzche went to the horse to ask for its forgiveness for the inhumane reflections of Descarte in relation to the animals.  Nietzche was a true lover of animals and this was reflected in the following comments against Darwinism.  - The apes are too good a species for man to have descended from them.-  I share the same opinion.  Really Descarte was a clinical case that is startling, and should be studied by the psychoanalysts.
